Position title: Professional Services Engineer/Cloud Engineer
Location: Anywhere in the Central/Midwest, Southeast or Eastern region of the U.S.
Position description:
Our client is seeking talented professional services/cloud engineer candidates for their Professional Services team with experience building, managing, and implementing cloud infrastructure-related technology offerings on internal clouds using traditional virtualization technologies from VMware and Citrix, and who have experience with Public IaaS (Infrastructure as a Service).  This is a remote position that can be based anywhere in the Midwest, Southeast or Eastern region of the U.S. with access to an international airport. 25-50% travel within the U.S. and Europe is required.
Position responsibilities:
  • In this role the qualified candidate will perform lead work on implementation projects which may include building multi-tier and other complex environments in the cloud using our clients technologies to develop custom automations and integrations, migration of existing applications into the cloud, end-user product training and sharing best practices. The Professional Services Engineer will also help drive post-sales satisfaction, act as a technical contact and assist with some support and customer issues, and work with internal teams to communicate and resolve these.
Required/desired skills:
  • 3+ years of technical work experience, with 2+ years of direct client-facing experience preferred
  • Strong project planning, organizational and time management skills with a strong sense of urgency to deliver critical results for our customers
  • Expertise in the deployment and management of applications and infrastructure within public and/or private clouds
  • Previous experience working from a remote home office
  • Proficiency in at least one scripting language (Python, Ruby, JavaScript, etc.) with experience using web service APIs
Sysadmin and knowledge of Windows and/or Linux a big plus
  • General understanding of application-level networking (Layer 3 and above)
  • Strong written, verbal, and presentation and communication skills
  • BS or MS in Computer Science (or equivalent degree, technical degree, or experience
